Welcome to LiteStep: Moving from Docs to Markdown
Welcome to the new LiteStep homepage and engineering log!
For a while, litestep.us was forwarded to a living Google Doc when pilots and friends asked about custom speed bars or projects. While that got the job done, moving to a lightweight, static Markdown site hosted on GitHub Pages brings a whole new level of speed, clarity, and organization.
What is LiteStep?
LiteStep represents the convergence of several passions:
- LiteStep Speed Bars: High-performance, lightweight multi-stage paragliding speed systems crafted for pilots who want positive foot feel and zero hassle in flight. Check out the dedicated Speed Bar Specs & Guide.
- Aviation & DEM Tools: Visualizing IGC flight tracks over digital elevation models, computing task statistics, and analyzing race lines.
- Generative Art & Topo Merch: Turning mathematical symmetry, form constants, and California peak elevations into custom apparel and visual art.
- Engineering Notes: Writing up Python workflows, music data management tools, and project retrospectives right here.
How this site works
This entire site is written in Markdown and rendered natively by GitHub’s Jekyll engine. Adding a new blog post is as simple as creating a .md file in _posts/ and committing to GitHub.
Stay tuned for more flight logs, rigging guides, and software releases!
